Connecting with your clients is crucial to growing a thriving health & wellness business.
Here are my top 3 ways to quickly connect with your customer, client or patient and grow your business.
How I can help health & wellness businesses quickly connect with clients is one of the most frequent questions I get asked, from newbies to private practice or those who've been around for years.
Spoiler alert: Now I'm going to do some blatant promotion for my up-coming course. (But it'll be worth it so don't skip!)
Not connecting with our clients on an emotional level can leave us out in the cold if others are getting it right.
I can show you how to be confident that every word you're writing for your business connects with your client, and works towards growing your business.
Hosted on Teachable.com my three-part Finding Your Voice: Writing So Your Client Listens course, complete with videos, case studies and interactive workbook means you'll know exactly who you're talking to, what words they speak and how you can connect with them to bring them into your brand.
The course goes live on 16th May (whoop-whoop!) but sign up for free and get alerts for when the course opens! You can check out the intro video on my 'DIY' page.
(now on with the 3 ways to connect with your clients!)
Why do I need to connect with my clients?
Emotions sell products and services and help businesses thrive.
Think of the last time you bought something. Did you buy it because you wanted it or because you needed it?
It’s easy to turn down something that you don’t think you want.
Connecting with your clients gives them a chance to get to know that you're the best person/ have the perfect product that will help them.
And people find emotional connections powerful.
You're not manipulating your client if you talk to their emotions. You're talking to them in a way they'll best respond to you.
1: Connect with your clients by finding out about them
Really knowing your client is the first step in making sure the words you’re using
on your website, in your adverts or in your newsletters/blogs are words that your
client can identify with.
If you try to sell to everyone you can end up selling to no one.
The more focused you are at talking to one group, the more you’ll
connect with them.
2: Connect with your clients by using the words that they use
We’ve all seen how it works. If someone’s not speaking your language it’s really
easy to fade out of the conversation.
I see it in my kids’ eyes when I use too many words!
I see myself doing it when I start to read research articles using big words.
I see clients doing it when I’m not using the language they connect with.
When you’re talking to clients online or in print you can’t see their reaction and adjust your language accordingly.
The bottom line is that if your client isn’t listening to you, they’ll go to someone else who is talking to them.
3: Connect with your clients by giving them things they want to read
One of my biggest content worries is whether anyone is actually seeing the things I take time and effort to write!
My next biggest content worry is whether I’m doing enough.
Consistently connecting with our clients helps build relationships that convert to sales.
I know I don’t have the time to be everywhere. After all I have a business to run!
If you can identify where your client hangs out, hopefully you’ve got a feel for what kind of content they want.
Save time by only hanging out where your clients do.
Feel confident and prepared
The three workbooks that come with my Words for Wellness 'Finding your Voice' course walk you through each of these topics as if we were sitting, having a coffee and talking it over.
With the questions and prompts completed you'll end up with gold! A complete profile of your clients, so that everything you do can be written and created especially for them!
Don't forget you can enroll in my Words for Wellness school free and check out the course information before it's launched on May 18th 2018.
